In 1947, the Korean Home Economics Association (KHEA) was founded at Sung Shin High School and the first President and Executive Committee members of KHEA were elected. The number of total members of the society is now up to more than 1,700. The Korean Home Economics Association (KHEA) is composed of the Assembly, the Executive Committee, and Advisory Members. The policy-making body of KHEA is the Executive Committee, whose members are elected officers and members-at-large elected by the Assembly. The KHEA has its headquarters in Seoul with branches in every region of the country. Through the regional organization, academic research is conducted with results contributing to the communities. The aims of the Korean Home Economics Association (KHEA) are to contribute to the development and propagation of Home Economics and related area. Korean Home Economics Association (KHEA) is publishing two journals: "The Journal of Korean Home Economics Association"(Korean, 10times per year) and International Journal of Home Economics"(English, twice per year). ⓒCopyright 2001, The Korean Home Economics Association.
